AUCKLAND CITY

Orewa Beach Top 10 Holiday Park is within easy driving distance of Auckland – New Zealand’s largest city. Built around dormant and extinct volcanic cones and one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, Auckland City is an exciting and picturesque place to visit.

Buses leave for the city right outside the holiday park every hour (at 10 minutes to the hour). Alternatively, you can make your way to Gulf Harbour or Devonport on Auckland’s North Shore and enjoy a ferry ride across the harbour to the city centre.

There are a number of other ferry or sailing trips that you can take, including visiting Waiheke Island and Rangitoto – Auckland’s imposing volcanic landmark.

You can also wander through Auckland’s excellent War Memorial Museum and Maritime Museum, visit the Viaduct Basin (where the America’s Cup sailing competition was hosted) or enjoy the views from the Sky Tower.

If you’re feeling adventurous, walk around the harbour bridge with Auckland Bridge Climb or go bungy jumping in the city where bungy pioneer AJ Hackett was born and raised.
